Stephanie Schaffer was our interpreter for Sen Bob Casey once again!

Stephanie said, “His speech was broadcasted live through both Senator Casey’s page and the U.S. Democrats Facebook pages. Last I checked there was a combined total of 88,000 views on Facebook and there was a handful of comments regarding the interpreter. Mainly ‘thank you for providing an interpreter’ and my personal favorite ‘Yes! An interpreter that’s actually signing what they’re saying and not monster and pizza!’”

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), which proudly serves Virginians who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, DeafBlind or have difficulty speaking. To celebrate this important milestone, we are hosting two open house events later this month in concert with our partners at Virginia Relay and Hamilton Relay. You are cordially invited to join us, as we honor the pioneers who helped to establish the VDDHH.
