Building Classifiers in the Sky

Roanoke City Public Schools and the VDOE Educational Interpreter Training Grant present ‘Building Classifiers in the Sky.’ This workshop, presented by Sabrina Smith, will provide 0.6 CEUs. It will take place Thursday, August 15, from 8:00am – 3:00pm at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Virginia.

Many interpreters receive the results of their performance interpreting test and it mentions the need to work on classifiers in their ASL product. This workshop focuses on building a visual representation with the use of classifiers. The participants will spend the day learning about various classifiers and the importance of their use in the interpreting product. The workshop is an interactive workshop with a focus on application that enables the participants to get instant feedback on their products.
