Kenyan Sign Language and Deaf Education Presentation

Fairfax Circle Church is hosting Joseph Kigunda, who will give a community presentation on Kenyan Sign
Language and Deaf Education on Saturday, August 11 from 9 am-11 am. The presentation will be in
Spoken English with ASL interpreters and VRID is sponsoring the .2 CEUs.
The presentation will be at Fairfax Circle Church and completely FREE!

Joseph Kingunda, a leader in Deaf education from Kenya, will describe how he helped standardize
Kenyan Sign Language. He will also talk about his continuous efforts to provide services for vulnerable
children and Deaf Kenyans. Joseph will talk about his continuous journey to improve the lives of Deaf
Kenyans and what work still needs to be done. There will be a question and answer section.
