“Charlie and Frog” by Karen Kane is
the perfect book for both!
A hearing child and a deaf child team
up to solve a mystery. There is exposure to the deaf community, and each chapter
has a picture of a different sign!
Kane is a sign language interpreter
at Gallaudet University and also gives talks at local elementary schools, and
the illustrator is a deaf gentleman she recommended to her publishers.
The story is adorable, and the
message is great for all! For your own child, your niece/nephew, or your
neighbor’s kid, this book is a Must!
