Wow. Sometimes I forget the unbelievable beauty that is American
Sign Language. I mean wow.
Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself. My friend sent me a
video of a rehearsal of 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of The Hunchback of
Notre Dame. Joshua Castille, a Deaf actor who was also in Deaf West’s Spring
Awakening, plays Quasimodo. The passion he pours into his part, there
really aren’t words sufficient enough to explain. You MUST watch one or both. I
encourage both! Please watch both! There is one phrase towards the end of ‘Made
of Stone,’ that is, in my humble opinion, much more potent in ASL than the
words that were sung. Right to the heart, in the very best way;)

Whether you watch one or both or none, please Share With Us
a story of how ASL has touched you. Either that or a silly meme;)
